Del teatro al guión cinematográfico : Catalina D’erzell, escritora pionera en México

Abstract

Catalina D’Erzell fue una dramaturga pionera en la adaptación cinematográfica de México. Cuatro de sus textos dramáticos fueron llevados al cine con mucho éxito. En 1936 se filmó ¡Esos hombres! adaptada de su texto dramático que había triunfado en 1923. Asimismo, en 1942 adaptó su obra Lo que sólo un hombre puede sufrir cuyo reparto estuvo integrado por Andrés Soler y Carlos López Moctezuma, entre otros. En 1943 se llevó al cine La razón de la culpa cuyo argumento y adaptación fue de la autora. La última película en la que participó la autora fue en Como todas las madres cuyo título teatral era Maternidad. En todas sus películas triunfó y fueron exhibidas no solamente en México, sino en toda América Latina y el sur de Estados Unidos. In 1936 the film Esos Hombres was an adaptation from his dramatic text that had triumphed in 1923. Also in 1942 she adapted her work Lo que solo un hombre puede sufrir, where the cast consisted of Andrés Soler and Carlos López Moctezuma, among others. In 1943 La razón de la culpa went to the cinema, its argument and adaptation was made by the author. The last film in which the author was involved was Como todas las madres, which had a theatrical title: Maternity. All her films where a triumph and were exhibited not only in Mexico but throughout Latin America and the southern United States.
