Espacios imaginados y formas simbólicas del EZLN en la Ciudad de México

Abstract

Este trabajo resalta el impacto del movimiento social del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (ZNL) sobre el imaginario y los esquemas ideológicos de la sociedad civil urbana de la ciudad de México. El interés teórico es encontrar el punto en el que se enlazan los imaginarios colectivos y las ideologías, por medio de acciones y discursos de los actores que interpretan el pasado, el presente y el futuro de la vida social y urbana. Para confrontar esta reflexión se toma como caso de estudio la Marcha por la Dignidad Indígena que encabezaron 24 representantes de la Comandancia General del EZLN, de la selva lacandona de Chiapas a la ciudad de México, durante los meses de febrero, marzo y abril del año 2001. Mediante del análisis etnográfico de la marcha se observa cómo, a partir de ciertas situaciones coyunturales, los individuos asumen, presumen, sospechan y realizan un juicio sobre la realidad y actúan en consecuencia.

This paper highlights the impact held by the social movement of the Ejército Zapatista de Liberación National (EZLN) on the imaginaries and ideologies of Mexico City's civil society. Its theoretical interest the points out the interaction between collective imaginaries and ideologies, by asking how social agents, through their actions and speeches, interpret the past, present and future of urban life. The case study is the Marcha por la Dignidad Indígena (March for lndigenous Dignity), which was headed by 24 representatives of the EZLN's General Command. It took place between the Selva Lacandona of Chiapas and Mexico City during February, March and April in 2001. The ethnographic analysis of this event reveals how its individual participants, in circumstantial situations, assume, boast, suspect and carry out certain judgements of reality and act accordingly. The differences in the way that social groups manifest their ideologies-understood as a set of ideas and meanings directed at symbolic forms of domination-is emphasized.
