La estadística aplicada como herramienta para la dirección integral de las organizaciones

Abstract

El objetivo central del presente ensayo es ubicar a la estadística aplicada como una de las técnicas cuantitativas más útiles, aunque no la única, para la dirección integral de las organizaciones, tanto públicas como privadas y sociales. Para ello, se describirá primeramente una concepción general del metabolismo de las organizaciones, entendiéndolo como la interacción de dos mundos: el mundo de las cosas y el inframundo de “los significados”. Posteriormente se caracterizará el proceso de dirección integral. Enseguida se desarrollará una metodología general para la aplicación de herramientas estadísticas como apoyo para la gestión del mundo organizacional de “las cosas”. Finalmente, se ubicará, a manera de ejemplo, la aplicación de algunas de dichas herramientas cuantitativas en situaciones decisorias directivas.

The central objective of the present essay is to locate the Applied Statistics as one of the most useful quantitative techniques, —although not the only one - for the integral direction of organizations, both public, private and social. For it, will first be described a general conception of metabolism of organizations, understanding it as the interaction of two worlds: the world of “things” and the Infra-World “meanings”. Subsequently, will be characterized the Integral Direction process. Immediately, will be developed a general methodology for the implementation of statistical tools as a support for organizational management World of “things”. Finally, will be located, by way of example, the application of some of these quantitative tools in directive decision, making situations.
