Juan Pérez Jolote: el acierto técnico de Ricardo Pozas

Abstract

En este artículo se observa cómo Ricardo Pozas Arciniega empleó los recursos de la narrativa autobiográfica para contar la historia de un indio de San Juan Chamula, en Los Altos de Chiapas. Se ofrecen algunos datos generales de la brillante trayectoria académica del autor, quien vivió largos períodos en el pueblo mencionado. Sobre todo, se llama la atención al hecho de que supo aprovechar los recursos de la antropología para dar al lector una enorme cantidad de pruebas de verosimilitud a lo largo del libro que tituló con el nombre de su protagonista y al que agregó el epíteto Biografía de un tzotzil.

This article shows how Ricardo Pozas Arciniega used the resources of the autobiographical narrative to tell the story of an indian from San Juan Chamula, a town located in Los Altos de Chiapas. Some general data of the brilliant academic trajectory of the autor, who lived long periods in the town mentioned, are offered. Especially, attention is drawn to the fact that he was able to take advantage of the resources of anthropology to give the reader an enormous amount of verisimilitude proofs throughout the book, which he titled with the name of its protagonist and to which he added the epithet Biography of a Tzotzil.
