Estridentismo. Audacia es el juego

Abstract

Estridentismo (1921-1927), estrategia genuinamente mexicana y primera en Latinoamérica. Rebelde, intensa, audaz, con un compromiso decidido en su renovación, reveló la postura de la publicidad de aquel entonces, y lo que más tarde Marshall McLuhan denominaría “el medio es el mensaje”. Surgió en una época de vanguardias mundiales; de renovación en México, que abarcó diversos campos del quehacer cultural e incluso económico y político, tras la Revolución mexicana.

Stridentism (1921-1927), a genuinely Mexican strategy and the first in Latin America. With a rebellious, intense, daring posture, with a determined commitment to renewal, it revealed the position of advertising at that time, and what Marshall McLuhan would later call “the medium is the message”. It emerged in a time of global avant-gardes; of renewal in Mexico, which encompassed various fields of cultural and even economic and political activity, after the Mexican Revolution.
