The urban solid waste (MSW) is a serious problem due to gaseous and liquid emissions (leachates) that contain dangerous substances, if it’s not controlled, can be contaminate soils and water bodies. Currently, technified sanitary landfills are an option, due to their type of construction, they protect the soil and collect leachates through oxidation ponds, in addition to the fact that these liquids can be treated. Its degradation can be through advanced oxidation processes (POA's) that contain strongly oxidizing radicals such as HO • and HOO •. In this work the leachate oxidations from the sanitary landfill of the Ecological Center for Integral Waste Management Querétaro (CEMIRQ) were carried out, first by the Fenton reaction and the degradation was completed by combining Ozone-UV, obtaining a reduction of 14,421.63 mg / L from the oxidation of the crude leachate until the oxidation O₃-UV, obtaining a 96.50% efficiency. The kinetics O₃-UV oxidation were of the first order.
