Lo fantástico en el arte y la literatura

Abstract

En el arte y, en especial, en la literatura todo realismo es ficción. Recreación feroz o detallada de las impresiones imaginadas por un autor. En el presente ensayo, se propone examinar la inmersión en lo real que, desde la perspectiva de lo fantástico, ejecuta el arte. A diferencia de lo que postula Tzvetan Todorov en un célebre ensayo, lo fantástico no es la posible irrupción de la ficción en el mundo real lo que crea ese efecto de ficción fantástica; antes bien, el lector o el espectador son los que pasan, en la creación fantástica, a ser succionados, incluidos, en y por esa recreación, y son, entonces, parte de esa estética. De modo que el artista, en su ejercicio fantástico, consigue incluirnos, hacernos parte de su ficción. Así, el mundo deja de ser algo en mí, para en verdad ser el mundo en sí. He aquí la ruta por la que, de súbito, el contemplador aparece en el camino hacia lo fantástico.

In art, and especially in literature, all realism is fiction. Fierce or detailed recreation of an author’s imagined impressions. In this essay, it is proposed to examine the immersion in the real that, from the perspective of the fantastic, art executes. Contrary to what Tzvetan Todorov postulates in a famous essay, what is fantastic is not the possible irruption of fiction in the real world that creates that fantastic fiction effect; rather, the reader or the spectator are those who happen, in the fantastic creation, to be sucked, included, in and by that recreation, and are, then, part of that aesthetic. So that the artist, in his fantastic exercise, manages to include us, make us part of his fiction. Thus, the world ceases to be something in me, to truly be the world itself. Here is the route by which, suddenly, the contemplator appears on the road to the fantastic.
