El santo luchador: de rudo a técnico, del espectáculo a súper héroe

Abstract

Después de plantear el tema de la lucha libre en Londres y en la antigua Grecia, y del debate de si debe continuar como la lucha antigua, pura, o como espectáculo, nos centraremos en demostrar la evolución del Santo en el espectáculo. Para ello estructuraremos el texto en tres partes. En la primera abordaremos los inicios de la lucha libre y de Rodolfo Guzmán; en la segunda, su desarrollo como Santo, actor rudo dentro del deporte a través de su nombre, cuerpo físico y atuendo, y el espectáculo teatral; y en la tercera, como Santo, actor técnico del deporte espectáculo en la televisión, el cómic y el cine.

After raising the issue of wrestling in London and ancient Greece, and discussing whether it should continue as the ancient, pure fight, or as a show, we will focus on demonstrating the evolution of the Saint in the show. For this we will structure the text in three parts. In the first we will address the beginnings of wrestling and Rodolfo Guzmán; in the second, his development as Saint, a rude actor in sports through his name, physical body and attire, and the theatrical spectacle; and in the third, as Saint, technical actor of the sport show on television, comic and film.
