Absenteeism of labour in construction has been identified as one of the main factors delaying construction projects worldwide, including the Yucatan Peninsula. However, its impact on the duration of construction activities has not been studied in the local context. Studying this impact would help project managers to consider this variable in order to reduce uncertainty while planning, as well as to assess measures to reduce absenteeism with the purpose of delivering their work in time. The objective of the presented work is to determine the impact of absenteeism of labour on the duration of construction activities in housing projects. To achieve this, a simulation analysis will be conducted using the following methodology: Productivity and absenteeism data will be collected by observing the activities of mass housing construction. A simulation model will be performed to estimate the duration of the activities observed based on their productivity. A sensitivity analysis will be performed, with a manipulation level of presence-absence for the absenteeism variable.
