- Evaluación de la inhibición de la corrosión del acero api 5L x52 mediante una cefalosporina de primera generación en medio ácido(Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (México). Unidad Azcapotzalco. Coordinación de Servicios de Información., 2014-08) Pozos Reyes, RodolfoIn this thesis was carried out the evaluation of cephalothin antibiotic (6R,7R)-3- [(acetoxi)metil]-8-oxo-7-[(2-tienilacetil)amino]-5-tia-1-azabiciclo [4.2.0] oct-2-ene- 2carboxilico, as corrosion inhibitor for API 5L X52 steel, immersed in acidic medium. This study consisted of carrying out the variation of experimental conditions, such as hydrodynamic conditions, inhibitor concentrations and different temperatures. According to the results it was determined that the concentration at which the highest efficiency is obtained at 85%, was the one corresponding to a concentration of 50 ppm at 25 ° C. Moreover it is determined by performing a change in temperature takes place in a decrease in the corrosion efficiency, which decreases to 40 ° C, and subsequently is maintained at about 65 °C, at a concentration 50 ppm. Corresponding to the variation of the hydrodynamic conditions has shown that a significant variation in the inhibition efficiency study, although still at 1000 rpm, the efficiency remains above 80%. Also in carrying out the study for the metal immersion time in the solution containing the inhibitor, indicating that this continues to be effective even at 600 hours of immersion, obtaining efficiencies above 90%. For each of the hydrodynamic conditions studied, was carried out thermodynamic analysis, from which it was determined that the inhibitor-metal interaction is given by an adsorption process of physisorption type, described by the Langmuir model (ΔG°ads <-20). Therefore the antibiotic cefepime, proved to be effective in inhibiting corrosion of API 5L X52 steel immersed in acid medium.
