Una explicación facilita sería la de exorcizar el duelo por el suicidio del padre. No es el caso. Sí lo es el de entender las necesidades de cumplir una vocación. Por eso el recuento de los detalles significativos de una existencia cifrada en el heroísmo de pensar y de escribir. La Invencible, novel, prose poetry, random invention is the only way for a writer to understand the (un)reasons for the decision between life and death. A simplistic explanation would be to exorcise the grieving of father’s suicide. Not the case. But is so to understand the needs to accomplish a vocation. Therefore the remembrance about significant details of a life measured in the heroism of thinking and writing. Este texto, así, quiere ser un homenaje a ciertos momentos de la vida de algunos artistas –siete escritores y un pintor—que fallecieron poco antes o poco después del cambio de milenio. A la manera de Enrique Fernández Ledesma y sus Galerías de fantasmas, estas líneas son un tributo a la vida, plena de inteligencia e intransigente con la vocación, de Severino Salazar, Francisco Cervantes, Miguel Ángel Hernández Rubio, Carlos Montemayor, Guillermo Scully, Guillermo Fernández, Alí Chumacero y Margarita Villaseñor. In the depraved circle of time, no one knows when will die, even so death is the only certainty. This text, as it goes, is meant to be a tribute to certain moments in the life of some artists –seven writers and a painter– whom died shortly before or shortly after the turn of the millennium. In the manner of Enrique Fernandez Ledesma and his Galleries of ghosts, these lines are a tribute to life, full of intelligence and inflexible with the calling, from Severino Salazar, Francisco Cervantes, Miguel Ángel Hernández Rubio, Carlos Montemayor, William Scully, William Fernández, Alí Chumacero and Margarita Villaseñor.
