- Trayectorias, polos y redes en la construcción de la ciencia en México: el caso de la biotecnología(Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (México). Unidad Azcapotzalco. Coordinación de Servicios de Información., 2014-04-14) MALDONADO PEREZ, ESTELAThis thesis depart from the hypothesis that the recognition of scientists and the research´s collectives not only depends on the individual or particular groups merits, but on the interaction between science and society spaces and actors interest linked with the production knowledge. The research of the professionals´s formative trajectories and their collaboration in research networks of the scientists of the elite allows me to closely observe the factors and actors -in and outside of the discipline- which have an effect in the making and validation of the scientific work. From the perspective of the sociology of science this work presents a qualitative and quantitative study about the genesis and evolution of Biotechnology in México. I took as object of study four research collectives which are considered main references in the field: Instituto de Biotecnología of the UNAM, Department of Biotechnology of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Campus Iztapalapa, Colegio de Posgraduados Campus Montecillo, and the Unit of Irapuato of the Centro de Investigación y Estudios Avanzados del IPN.
