    El presente ensayo propone un análisis del personaje Donnie Darko, de la película del mismo nombre, a partir de las referencias que la cinta hace de las tradiciones literarias inglesas, romántica y gótica, y de observar cómo se adaptan estas tradiciones a un contexto contemporáneo. This essay presents an analysis of the Donníe Darko character (from the movie by the same name) beginning with the film's references to the English, romantic and gothic literary traditions, and how these traditions are adapted to a contemporary context.
