Implementación de geotextiles en el paisaje como una estrategia para el control de la erosión y recuperación de la cubierta vegetal
Abstract
Este trabajo surge como una motivación para crear mejores herramientas que ayuden a la conservación de nuestros paisajes en México. Una de sus principales finalidades es revelar la fisionomía del geotextil para que el lector pueda conocer y posteriormente proponer nuevas formas de su uso en la conservación y mejoramiento del paisaje nacional. Si bien este proyecto no particulariza el estudio de un tipo de paisaje en concreto, se busca que la investigación sea inclusiva para que el lector pueda analizar la influencia que pueden tener los geotextiles en el mejoramiento del aspecto sensible y ambiental en cualquier tipo de paisaje. Uno de los objetivos principales es mostrar como el uso de los geotextiles para aplicaciones en el paisaje se ha diversificado bastante en los últimos años, incrementando la demanda por el uso de fibras naturales para tratar problemas puntuales como el control de la erosión, la revegetación y la recuperación de vegetación nativa o endémica en diversas zonas. Este fenómeno responde a una demanda global por el uso de materiales que ayuden a amortiguar y mejorar la calidad de los suelos propensos a la degradación y a la erosión por factores naturales y antrópicos. Mediante esta investigación se busca mostrar como el uso de geotextiles es una estrategia eficiente para el mejoramiento y conservación del paisaje mediante el control de la erosión y la recuperación de vegetación nativa en diferentes suelos de tipo andosol y litosol. El trabajo está desarrollado en tres etapas en las cuales se busca desarrollar y obtener información sustancial de los geotextiles como el planteamiento documental, el desarrollo experimental y la ejemplificación de su uso en la recuperación de vegetación mediante la propuesta de un muro verde natural. De esta manera, en la primera etapa se desarrolla información fundamental sobre los geotextiles donde se plantean conceptos básicos como sus principales funciones, sus aplicaciones y la clasificación de fibras utilizadas para su fabricación. También se visualizan algunas de las últimas innovaciones y propuestas en el ámbito internacional para el desarrollo y mejoramiento de la funcionalidad de los geotextiles. De igual forma se exploran algunos ejemplos de aplicación para proyectos nacionales e internacionales. La segunda etapa formula un método experimental en el que se diseñan una serie de módulos experimentales donde se ponen a prueba el uso de geotextiles para el control de la erosión en condiciones reales de riego, luz solar y vegetación, usando a su vez dos tipos de suelos comunes en el Valle de México de tipo andosol y litosol. Finalmente, en la tercera y última etapa se aborda a modo de ejemplo, un caso de aplicación de geotextiles para la instalación de un muro verde natural en el Parque Estatal Sierra de Guadalupe, en el municipio de Coacalco Estado de México, donde se plantea su uso para el control de la erosión y la recuperación de vegetación nativa en una zona degradada del Sendero Guadalupe. Se espera que la información documentada permita ampliar el criterio para el uso de geotextiles haciendo más fundamental su aplicación en proyectos y en el diseño del paisaje en México.
