En el presente artículo se analiza el papel de la educación como un elemento determinante del crecimiento económico. Tres modelos se consideran y comparan, el modelo de Solow aumentado y el de crecimiento endógeno de Lucas, que enfatizan la acumulación de capital humano a través de la educación, y el modelo de Benhabib y Spiegel, donde el avance tecnológico depende del nivel educativo.
