Abstract
Este volumen constituye un tercer esfuerzo del colectivo por compartir con los lectores una edición donde las reflexiones y conclusiones parciales sobre los temas indagados contribuyan a una comprensión teórica y práctica sobre las ciencias y las artes que fundamentan al Diseño. En esta oportunidad, el hilo conductor central de la interacción entre la tecnología y nuestras disciplinas se complementa con la exploración de tres ámbitos intrínsecos al quehacer universitario: el conocimiento, la docencia y la vinculación con la sociedad. Como en anteriores ocasiones, algunos de los capítulos pertenecen a un autor o autora en específico, mientras que en otro el tema se ha desarrollado de modo colaborativo. El libro comienza con un ensayo de Roberto García Madrid: “Visualización en el TED”, donde comparte un análisis sobre tres conferencias alojadas en ese popular canal de divulgación sobre temas de tecnología, entretenimiento y diseño. Alda Zizumbo, en el capítulo segundo: “Nuestro entorno y el diseño”, invita a conocer un trabajo de vinculación entre la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Azcapotzalco y la colonia Nueva Rosario, aledaña a la institución. El tercero y último capítulo, por quien firma esta presentación, se titula “Comunicación universitaria, el qué y el cómo: una propuesta metodológica”. La inquietud por hacerlo parte de una investigación nacional amplia sobre las labores de extensión de las universidades y los ámbitos que la componen. Por lo tanto, aquí se aborda, una vez más, un tema asociado a la relación universidad-sociedad, específicamente a partir de aquello que las instituciones comparten a través de sus espacios virtuales públicos.
