Matemáticas para el diseño. Introducción a la teoría de la simetría
Abstract
Este libro es parte de una propuesta general: la matemática para el diseño es aquella que proporcione los fundamentos teóricos para arribar al uso de las computadoras como instrumento inseparable del diseñador como en el pasado lo fue el lápiz, la regla y el compás. En la formación matemática del diseñador se debían incluir los siguientes tópicos: geometría ornamental, combinatoria y teoría de gráficas, cálculo aplicado en una y dos variables; estos temas debían apoyarse fuertemente con un software diseñado ad hoc. Se compone de tres capítulos, desarrollados en forma constructiva, es decir, la comprensión de un capítulo depende del conocimiento del precedente. Se han seleccionado una buena cantidad de ejemplos y ejercicios de aplicación; el material se puede cubrir en un curso regular de métodos matemáticos para el diseño.
