This work is based on the study of the use of artificial lighting and its direct relationship with the performance of office users. We questioned the lighting parameters established by the normativity of different countries and laid out the reasons why the amount of lighting required for offices differs from one to the other, giving place to the research and analysis of artificial lighting applied in the Mexican environment. We considered aspects of lighting technology and human biology for the methodological application. The study was performed inside the Artificial Lighting Laboratory at UAM Azcapotzalco. Exercises and statistical surveys were applied in order to determine the visual performance expressed by the users, making a compilation of the data, and an analysis was carried out that will serve as reference for future research in the process of decision-making for the effective use of artificial lighting.
