La discusión del republicanismo a partir de los clásicos grecolatinos en las obras históricas de la primera mitad del siglo XIX en México
Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación es explicar cómo se entrelaza en el contexto político e intelectual y, concretamente, en la escritura de las obras históricas de la primera mitad del siglo XIX la discusión de la república y el republicanismo y su relación con los clásicos grecolatinos en tres ejes principales: primero, en la escritura de una historia nacional; el segundo, el republicanismo y buen gobierno frente a la tiranía y, finalmente, la educación como base para el republicanismo. Para ello se explora el estado de la cuestión en dos aspectos principalmente: por un lado, respecto a la historiografía sobre la literatura grecolatina y su impacto en el marco de las Independencias hispanoamericanas y, por el otro, el republicanismo y la escritura de la historia en México durante la primera mitad del siglo XIX.
