Escribió la novela La rosa blanca, que trata sobre la explotación injusta de las compañías petroleras a las comunidades cercanas a los yacimientos petroleros. Aunque la novela describe y critica las características del capitalismo y del bien común, al mismo tiempo que se disputan un rancho centenario. B. Traven termina
la disputa de la propiedad con una narración policiaca fallida. Jan-Christoph Hauschild descubrió una novela inédita de B. Traven en el Archivo Federal de la capital alemana, en 2009; el original es un mecanuscrito, su tema es policiaco y fue escrita en 1925, pero fue rechazada por editoriales alemanas. Este libro puede ser un referente de La rosa blanca y un antecedente de la narrativa del escritor alemán. ABSTRACT: B. Traven is considered a mysterious writer.
