In this work, the synthesis of a hybrid material based on a hydrotalcite-type compound made up of Mg (Al)O and amoxicillin as organic anion was carried out for its subsequent reconstruction, managing to accommodate the organic molecule in the interlaminar region, antibacterial activity on Shigella sonnei. To know the physicochemical properties of the material obtained, a structural analysis by X-ray diffraction was carried out, the functional groups were identified with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal stability from thermogravimetric analysis. The MgAl-amoxicillin hybrid material showed controlled amoxicillin behavior and effective antibacterial activity against Shigella sonnei.
