Renovación urbana por mejoramiento integral del barrio Las Flores, como nodo cultural y turístico en Barranquilla [Presentación]

Abstract

El trabajo que se presenta a continuación corresponde a la formulación de un proyecto de investigación que plantea la creación de un nodo cultural y turístico en el territorio donde actualmente se asienta el Barrio las Flores en Barranquilla que tuvo su origen en el poblamiento de Sabanilla. (Vergara & Baena, 2006). Actualmente, el barrio Las Flores cuenta con una población de 8.000 habitantes y un área de 1.42 km2 (OAM,2017), donde la principal actividad económica de su población está basada en la pesca, gastronomía y la actividad turística informal. Diagnosticado por el POT 2012-2032, con un tratamiento urbanístico de mejoramiento integral y conservación ambiental, por sus ecosistemas marino-costeros existentes; presenta áreas de invasión, deficiencias en los servicios públicos, infraestructura vial, equipamientos sociales, donde la informalidad es el factor predominante. Para efectos de este trabajo, se realizará un diagnóstico del área afectada y su zona de influencia; percibiendo las características físicas, ambientales, socioeconómicas y culturales, siendo el enfoque del proyecto su mejoramiento integral y recuperación a través de la propuesta del nodo cultural, turístico como pericentro de la ciudad que apunta resignificar las características propias e intrínsecas del sector para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de sus habitantes y la ciudad región.

The work presented below corresponds to the formulation of a project that proposes the creation of a cultural and tourist node in the territory where the Barrio las Flores currently sits in Barranquilla that had its origin in the settlement of Sabanilla. Currently, the Las Flores neighborhood has a population of 8,000 inhabitants and an area of 1.42 Km2 (OAM, 2017), where the main economic activity of its population is based on fishing, gastronomy, and informal tourist activity. Diagnosed by the POT 2012-2032, with an urban treatment of integral improvement and environmental conservation, for its existing marine-coastal ecosystems; presents areas of invasion, deficiencies in public services, road infrastructure, social facilities, where informality is the predominant factor For the purposes of this work, a diagnosis of the affected area and its area of influence will be made; perceiving the physical, environmental, socioeconomic and cultural characteristics, being the focus of the project its integral improvement and recovery through the proposal of the cultural, tourist node as a pericenter of the city that aims to signify the own and intrinsic characteristics of the sector for the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants and the urban region.
