ambas presentaciones. S. typhimurium resulto ser resistente a ampicilina patente y genérico. E. coli presentó sensibilidad intermedia a la ampicilina patente y genérico. Gastrointestinal diseases caused by Salmonella is one of the leading causes of morbidity and death in México. Patent in the country is the official title that confers a state agency for 20 years from the application date. When the patent expires or utility model then is of the public domain. The inhibitory effect of Ampicillin and Ceftriaxone in their presentations on patent and generic Salmonella typhimurium was evaluated. Antimicrobial susceptibility technique Kirby Bauer was followed using a strain of Escherichia coli ATCC 95922 as reference control. Data were analyzed by Student t test and bivariate ANOVA with α 0.05. S. typhimurium and E. coli were found to be sensitive to both ampicillin and ceftriaxone presentations. S. typhimurium were resistant to ampicillin patent and generic. E. coli presented intermediate sensitivity to the patent and generic ampicillin.
