In this work the evaluation of silver nanoparticles obtained from mint extract (Mentha piperita) is presented. Five solutions were prepared, the color change of the solutions was observed and measurements were made by UV-visible spectrophotometry and Atomic Force Microscopy to confirm the characteristics of the nanoparticles. Peaks between 400 and 4 70 nm were present indicating the presence of silver nanoparticles. A relatively high monodispersity with particles around 100 nm was evidenced. The obtaining of nanoparticles by this green method is corroborated. In the future it is necessary to optimize the synthesis parameters to obtain monodisperse and smaller sized nanoparticles.
