Escontria chiotilla is an endemic plant of our country, which grows in forests called Jiotillales in arid and semi-arid zones of the state of Puebla. These environments favor the vegetation with photosynthesis type Metabolism Acid of the Crassulaceae (MAC), which exhibits changes in the concentration of organic acids. The objective of this work was to evaluate the activity of MAC in branches with north-south orientation and young-mature plant condition (Escontria chiotilla), as well as the growth pattern of its fruit in Coxcatlán, Puebla. The design was completely randomized with the variables of titratable acidity, phenology and fruit growth, in addition temperature and precipitation were recorded. Coxcatlán was optimal for the physiology of MAC, the southern orientation and the young area of the plant had the highest acid values. The fruit presented a double sigmoid growth pattern, reproductive asynchrony and the fruit setting was 8.2%.
