The present investigation corresponds to the study of the treatment of domestic sewage, coming from houses in the conurbation area with Lake Xochimilco. The treatment train consists of a combined biological process, anaerobic-wetland reactor, with residence time of 24 hours and 6 days respectively, in order to determine the removal kinetics of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of the treated water in the wetland, as an indicator of the purification of degradable matter. Three samplings were carried out, in seasons of dryness and rain. The analyzes were performed according to the methods established by the regulations established in NOM-001- SEMARNAT-1996. It is observed that in four days 90% of the COD is removed in the spring and summer, and in the winter it takes nine days to obtain the same result.
