Perovskitas como alternativa en celdas fotovoltaicas
Abstract
Solar energy is a renewable, sustainable, and clean energy source. Perovskite photovoltaic cells have advantages over silicon cells; among them, they can be obtained at room temperature. The ABX3 type has an organ-metal halide cubic structure. The one used as the model is that of methylammonium lead iodide, CH3NH3PbI3, if it is manufactured and distributed massively, the problem is the recovery of lead, and how to avoid contamination of the aquifers. A theoretical study for lead substitution was carried out, implementing stability criteria based on physical-chemical and optoelectronic properties, with two main objectives: to eliminate or reduce toxicity and improve the stability of the system. The electronic structures of 121 perovskites were determined and only 11 favor the process of photon absorption in the region of visible light.
