In this study, first a global view of service innovation programs in HEIs shows the progress of service innovation education. Second, a single case of service innovation program in the land of 100,000 lakes is presented. This case serves as a trigger to consider how to embed service innovation education in emergent economies to strengthen their future innovation capabilities.
