Festividades en la iglesia de La Santísima : entre procesiones, chirimías y tarascas también se gana el cielo

Abstract

En este texto se exponen algunos datos sobre la historia de la iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad, de la ciudad de México, así como de las cofradías que ahí tuvieron su sede. Y con base en los principios de la historia de las mentalidades se estudian las principales festividades que se celebraban en ese recinto novohispano, para detectar las causas, formas y razones de tales celebraciones, a fin de comprender ciertos aspectos del sentir, pensar y actuar de esos grupos sociales en aquella etapa. Abstract: This text gives explanation of the history of the Holy Trinity Church in Mexico City as well as the associations that stemmed from it. With basis in the history of the colonial philosophy, the text studies the main festivities of this New Spain precinct so to detect the causes, process and reasoning behind such events, and thus understand certain aspects of the way of thinking, feeling and behaving of social groups from the time.
