Los sistemas de identificación biométrica. Una herramienta de control organizacional

Abstract

El sistema de control biométrico se utiliza para mantener el comportamiento humano dentro de ciertos parámetros, el propósito es identificar a los individuos por medio de características físicas que sean difíciles de alterar y llevar un registro de sus actividades sin que esto represente una intromisión en la privacidad de las personas. Existe una variedad significativa en los tipos de elementos biométricos que pueden utilizarse dentro de una organización y cada uno con su respectivo propósito. En la aplicación, el sistema de control biométrico se enfrenta a los siguientes retos: la falta de fiabilidad, los inconvenientes en la sustitución del manejo de identificadores y la administración de bases de datos. Sin embargo, con el avance de tecnología y las técnicas de aplicación es posible visualizar un futuro en el que se descubran nuevos usos y se reafirmen los ya establecidos.

The system of biometric control is in use for supporting the human behavior inside certain parameters, the intention is to identify the individuals by means of physical characteristics that are difficult to alter and take a record of his activities without this represents interference in the privacy of the persons. A significant variety exists in the types of biometric elements that can be in use inside an organization and each one with his respective intention. In the application, the system of biometric control faces the following challenges: the lack of reliability, the disadvantages in the substitution of the managing identifier and the administration of databases. Nevertheless, with the advance of technology and the technologies of application, it is possible to visualize a future in which new uses are discovered and the already established ones are reaffirmed.
