RESUMEN: La sociedad de nuestros días se caracteriza por ser una sociedad de organizaciones, éstas se han extendido a todas las formas de actividad humana; por lo que se considera la organización como la institución social dominante. La evolución de la sociedad ha situado a la organización como una parte viva en la que se configura su propia existencia. Consideradas como la manifestación de nuestra sociedad, cada día más independiente y especializada, las organizaciones se han convertido en la forma más eficiente y racional de agrupamiento social. La racionalidad, la eficiencia y la competencia ahora se constituyen como valores fundamentales de las sociedades industrializadas. Una sociedad sólo podrá reunir estas características en la medida en que las organizaciones que la conforman traduzcan estos principios en acciones diarias encaminadas al logro de sus objetivos.
ABSTRACT: The society today is characterized as a society of organizations, they have spread to all forms of human activity; for what is considered the organization as the dominant social institution. The evolution of society has placed the organization as a living part in which you set your own existence. Considered as the manifestation of our society, increasingly independent and specialized day, organizations have become more efficient and rational form of social grouping. Rationality, efficiency and competition are now as fundamental values of industrialized societies. A society can only bring these features to the extent that organizations that make up translate these principles into daily actions aimed at achieving its objectives.
