ABSTRACT: César Chávez, a Union leader and founder with Dolores Huerta of the UFW, one of the three main pilars where the Chicano Movement stands, has been a source of inspiration because of his non-violent method to defend the farm workers. His example that has also inspired Children’s Literature is the other side of the coin compared to others methods in Latin America. Gary Soto’s Jesse is an example. PALABRAS CLAVE: César Chávez.
